Grim - The little red riding hood (remake of a Grimm tale)
Updated:28/3/2008
While preparing my last work experience for 4 months I started working with "Feierblumm" on a shortfilm project. We did 2 years ago a huge project walled "Who's Quentin", a movie shown in several theatres in Luxembourg. As we all want to continue making movies, an association was founded and for the moment we are working on several small projects. So "Grim" is one of them, initiated by Yves Steichen. A "goth" remake of "The little redhood". It is more about athmosphere, decoration and video effects than the previous projects, so the preparation is taking lots of time. I am somehow the art director, even if there is no real role distribution between the participants, but everyone has his specialities. So for the moment we worked on Monster costumes. Until the release I can't post much of the real thing, but some artwork.
The artwork is drawn on paper with pencils, then scanned and relooked with "Corel PainterX ©". These are my first steps with my graphical tablet and pen. So I'm not really satisfied by these first works...

In the end the role distribution was exellent and everybody just worked above the expectations. After 4 days of shooting, the film just needs to get cut. The result until now is astonishing. I have mostly invested myself in the decoration and set modification. Finally a simple shed became a wolf's lair. We have some teaser Photos by Philippe Manderscheid and 2 press reviews for the shooting. More will soon be online.
